The Highland Society of London's Privacy Policy sets out the ways the Society processes personal data. This Privacy Policy only relates to personal data collected by the Society via the Society's website, Membership forms, fundraising responses, emails and telephone calls. The Society makes every effort to comply with the principles of the Data Protection Act 1998.

Personal data (including email addresses) is only used by the Society (including its Officers and contractors) to communicate in relation to the administrative activities and events of the Society, and will not be shared with third parties. The Society will seek permission from new Members to use their personal data for these purposes; any existing Members who wish to opt-out from having their personal data used for these purposes should contact

Any individual has the right to ask the Society for a written copy of all personal data held about that individual upon payment of a fee of £10; or to verify, update and amend any personal data held about that individual; in each case by contacting

The Society holds personal data in accordance with the security provisions of the UK Data Protection legislation. On an occasional basis, the Society publishes a handbook that includes the names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses of all Members, which is made available only to Members. The Society currently does not use cookies on its website.
